Romi makes the system that integrates production and management of all its plants more robust
Romi is investing to enlarge the integration of its business management system aiming to reduce and optimize productive processes and lift up its productivity.
Romi CEO, Livaldo Aguiar dos Santos, explains that the investment is strategical for the company, which is implementing the Lean Six Sigma methodology, a powerful management tool, with the purpose of improving the organizational performance.
“In order to potentiate this new methodology, we invest in complementary modules of Information Technology for the continuous improvement of the processes, through an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), a system of integrated information data and processes of business management, more robust”, says Aguiar dos Santos.
According to him, this investment will contribute to produce positive impacts in the results of the company, improving the management capacity and integrating business plants in Brazil and abroad. When it is possible to follow the information on the performance of several areas in real time the company increases its capacity of taking decisions in short time, which is essential to obtain better results and satisfy customers and shareholders. “It is a decisive differential to quickly have access to the information in production and management areas in order to reduce costs, enlarge sinergies as well as potentiate gains, and we are going to improve these processes even more.”
That is why the company contracted an Oracle package of solutions to make its ERP still stronger. Romi Information Technology resources must meet its several needs: preparation of Romi products design (machines tools, plastic processing machines and casting & machined parts), the production line for such products, the commercial and administrative management and the sales in Brazil and in more than 40 countries.
This purchase of the new solutions for business management system puts Romi as one of the companies with the more complete Oracle system in the market. Romi is considered benchmarking in world-wide level due to the great complexity of tasks involved in its processes of production and business management. For this reason, we are proud to offer again our solutions to support still more Romi growth”, says Silvio Genesini, Oracle Brazil CEO.
Romi has acquired 119 Oracle system modules which will give support for the continuous improvement of its processes and its economical growth. The contract foresees the most recent version updating of 35 current Oracle modules implemented in Romi since 1997 as well as licenses acquisition for other 84 modules. The installation of the new modules and the updating of the current ones will be carried out gradually, with foresight to conclusion in 2011.
