Romi joins Senai to open school with state-of-the-art equipment

Company has assigned industrial equipment in an amount above R$ 3,6 million to a new educational unit in Santa Barbara d’Oeste



 


Senai and Indústrias Romi have joined to make feasible the opening of a new educational unity in the town of Santa Barbara d’Oeste, where the company is located, on June 26. Romi, a Brazilian leader in the machines-tool and machines to plastic processing, assigned 25 industrial machines to the school, in order to prepare professionals qualified to work in state-of-the-art equipment.


The agreement between the company and Senai comprises the assignment of equipment manufactured by Romi, in an amount above R$ 3,6 million. “It is an important strategic investment to the Company, which offered very modern equipment to Senai. Besides, as new technologies are developed, the agreement foresees the replacement of these equipment for other more modern ones. This will allow the students to have the most modern means at disposal, to develop their professional competences”, says Romi’s CEO, Livaldo Aguiar dos Santos. Thus, he emphasizes, the school will be permanently updated and in tune with the work market and with the companies’ needs.


The project is considered strategic and of high impact to all Santa Barbara, Americana and Nova Odessa region by Romi, which will have one of the most modern educational Centers of the State, prepared to overcome the metal-mechanics industry dynamics. The company keeps a relationship of over 50 years with Senai, since the first agreement executed in 1958 between Senai and Fundação Romi, a non-profit institution held by Romi.


The new school unit also counts on the important support from Santa Bárbara d’Oeste Town Hall, which assigned the land where it was built. The school has 4,666.24 m2 and shall serves 3,184 students, offering 52 courses and therefore it will have 38 teachers and 23 classrooms.


The new unit, which was named of Escola Senai Álvares Romi, has industrial learning courses in the areas of maintenance electrician and machining mechanical; technical courses in mechanics and machining processes; continuing education courses of programmable logic controller, mechanical designer – CAD, milling, mechanical turning, conventional milling and conventional rectifier operator, CNC machining center and CNC lathe operator, among other.
